Research
What's live, what we're testing, and where next.
The Solar Analysis API, the embeddable calculator and Direct Mail are live in Your Power's products. Behind them is ongoing research, and the work to bring them to Ireland next.
Live today
01Running in Your Power's products now.
Solar Analysis API
Send a property's co-ordinates; get back the roof boundary, slope and direction, panel fit, energy production and a quotation, straight into an installer's own software.
Embeddable calculator (iframe)
Installers place the Your Power calculator on their own website, so homeowners can see their roof designed and quoted without leaving the page.
Direct Mail
Choose streets, filter homes and send each one a personalised letter with its own solar design and savings.
Automated design and quoting
Roof geometry, shading, panel layout and generation, worked out automatically for each property.
Ongoing research
02Being evaluated. Not yet shipped.
Computer vision model evaluation
Evaluation sets built from real property types, so every model change is judged on the roofs that matter.
Imagery and elevation-data quality
How resolution, capture date and shadow affect geometry, and how to catch poor inputs before they reach a result.
Reliability and quality assurance
Regression tests for analysis outputs, review workflows for edge cases and monitoring that catches drift early.
03 Next market
Next: Ireland.
After the UK, Ireland is next. The questions are the same on every roof, but the data is not: imagery, elevation models and building types all have to be validated before the analysis is as reliable on an Irish home as it is on a British one. That work is under way in Lahore.
What Ireland has to prove
Imagery quality
Resolution, recency and cloud or haze cover of the aerial and satellite imagery available.
Elevation data
Whether surface models exist at a resolution that can resolve roof pitch and obstructions.
Building types
Rural one-off houses, bungalows and dormer roofs, and how they differ from the UK homes our models know best.
Geographic coverage
How consistently data is available across cities, towns and the dispersed rural housing common in Ireland.
Technical writing

Understanding rooftop geometry from geospatial data
How roof planes, pitch and orientation can be recovered from aerial imagery and elevation surfaces — and where the hard cases are.

Evaluating satellite imagery quality for automated solar analysis
A framework for judging whether imagery is fit for measurement: resolution, recency, shadow and alignment.

The challenges of modelling rooftop shading
Trees change with the seasons, neighbouring buildings don't. Why shading is one of the hardest parts of solar modelling.

What it takes to bring automated solar analysis to Ireland
